From deep in the Himalaya Mountains where Maoist soldiers greet the morning sun as they warm up, to the cities where a powerful movement for change explodes on the streets, the people of Nepal have experienced moments they never thought possible.

Filmed over four years during the height of the insurgency and the historic transition of Nepal from a 240-year old monarchy to a Republic nation, Beneath Everest is a journey that exposes the grass root realities of Nepals ten-year war.

The film critically questions the use and continuation of violence and challenges its justifications.

Directed by a native Nepali, the film encourages Nepalis silenced by the fear to tell their stories, and challenges them to reflect on their fears, triumphs and hopes as Nepal begins the long journey towards peace.

  • For Nepal to move ahead, these Maoists should be finished first...

  • Randi ko chora prachada...... Hamro desh nepal lai bhata bungga parera pajero chalayera hidcha

  • Fucking Stupid!!

  • @comeon7894 why not kill the royals? lol retard

  • @lovemachine2016 war is sometimes necessary when you are pushed to your limits. Fuck the purely pacifist approach

  • The clip desurve 2 THUMPS UP. thanks. how can i view full documentary.

  • eagerly waiting for this documentary !!

  • what is maoist trying to do???????????????????????? i don't see any change. i only see war in my country. i am very sad for my country. nepal can be a better place if there is better education instend of war and started rebuilding the country and there most not be war with our own people

  • I do not think the situation in Nepal is ever going to change. People were living in fear, are living in fear and sadly I do not see it ending any time sooner. I just feel I were born in a better country, There is nothing to be proud of anymore.

  • the editing and stuffs are great.

but i am really worried about the title of the documentry because our country is econmically very sound in tourism sector and when u have the title with Everest in it and then show violence of the nation then i fear we could lose our tourism sectors business.

my only doubt is that lets not lose what we have.
