Ice Black To The World!
Using the world as his playground, Dancehall entertainer Ice Black takes his unique fuse of Dancehall to new levels. Combining the driving Dancehall riddims, fused with elements of Soul, R&B and Hip Hop, Ice Blacks music is universally appealing.
Born in Portmore, Jamaica, Ice Black is on a mission to prove himself on the musical landscape. As a youngster, Ice Black and friends would convert cardboard boxes into a pretend sound system where they would perform lyrics for the neighbourhood kids. Years later, Ice made his album debut with Run Away With The World which was released to positive reviews.
Building on the success of that album, Ice performed in Toronto, Jamaica, Montreal and New York, and shared the stage with Beenie Man, and was featured o the television show Rockers, based in New York.
Inspired by artists such as R. Kelly, Vybz Kartel, Wayne Wonder and Bob Marley, Ice developed the art for telling stories through song, and has contributed to the production of the songs he performs to. In 2009, Ice Black released his second studio album, Ice Black To The World which includes 16 make your body move songs!
Songs such as Lucky Tonight which uses a selection of the song Ill Take You There by the Staple Sisters and My Girl which fuses the smooth R&B vocals of Steve Jlin, Ice Black proves that a perfect genre blend can be achieved with Dancehall.
Combining driving Dancehall riddims with elements of R&B and Hip Hop, Ice Black brands his universally appealing sound using the world as his playground!
