  • @TheRipper999 Yeah when you are branching, it takes a copy of the current repo and gives you your own local version. It is useful for adding features that may break the code down the line. That way when you push your code it doesn't break someone else's code. You can fix all the bugs in it before you merge it into the trunk (or the Main base code). Also when you create a branch, when ever someone else updates the trunk. You will get a copy of the most recent changes. :D

  • @acidicxerox I read some more on branching, and what you said about merging it with the main trunk (really the main code base right?) makes sense. Branching seems to be an extremely important feature.

  • @TheRipper999 That is where Branching really comes into play. Then you can be working on one part of a project. And when you are finished you can merge it into the trunk. If that makes sense. Then when you are ready to add another feature, you would branch again to have your own little version of the code.

  • Cool. Looks good. I think I will try Mercurial. Although I am not too certain how that whole updating and pulling would work when you have a lot of members all using it at once though.
