A short demonstration of my cajon setup. A hand-made Croatian cajon made by Mr Nikola Santro, a snare stand with two small cymbals, a tambourine and a cowbell. The cajon played with a kickdrum pedal (the batter muffled with a sock, lol) and the left hand. The cymbals played with a Vic Firth Tala Wand Bamboo-11 rute. Micing - Shure SM57 OH for the cymbals, internal pickups for the cajon. Sound card used - E-MU 0404 USB, mixed in Cubase SX3, added some reverb and compression.

  • Maybe take a piece of plywood, cut it so it gets caught in the legs of the cajon, then attach the pedal to the piece of plywood? That way the pedal won't jump around so much. I like how creative you got with it though.

  • @BluNoseReindeer Thanks, and this plywood idea sounds great! I'll definitely try it out! Thanks for the idea!

  • Nice! What kind of bass pedal do you have there. I'm thinking about building one.

  • @wadester1969 The cheapest I could get, it's build quality (and quality in general) is pretty poor and I have to work out a system to attach it to the cajon, cause right now it just stands on the floor in front of the cajon and that can be a problem cause if the floor is wooden it can move around and that's a pain in the ass...
