Eating right on a low income can be hard. When you have children and a hard working spouse, the bills cost even more.

Proper nutrition and eating right doesn't have to be mega expensive though. Here are a few tips.

  • Tough leafy greens like turnip greens, collard greens, and kale give you a lot of bang for your buck. I can get a bundle of turnip greens at my local grocer for 99 cents.

    My cheap daily breakfast consists of old-fashioned oatmeal w/ raisins and 1 T brown sugar, a couple of eggs and a seasonal fruit. That comes to about 75 cents/day at most.

  • @MKUltra3 When you're on a budget, anything that isn't fastfood, but affordable and healthy is ideal. I'm sure we'd all love to be able to afford fresh, high quality food, but sometimes it's just not possible, even with sacrifices made.

  • Frozen vegetables don't have much in them vitamin wise.

    Eat raw food as much as possible.

    Curries are a good move, hot food is good for you.

    Meat has hormones, fecal matter, poisoning resulting from cows being fed cows...eat at your own risk
