@kosenjudo They do forget but a rule that I am personally not a fan of "pulling guard" stops the BJJ player from performing a good throw hence many schools do not even practice it at all. All they practice is how to safely pull guard. This is the same case with several modern Judo schools. They teach basic (at most blue belt BJJ) ground game and do not go further into details simply because in Judo, it's easier to win by a throw then a submission or a pin. The rules ruins the art.

@pcjudosambo Thank you, we agree about the importance of good takedowns...all BJJ matches start on your feet, I think some schools forget that.

For a BJJ blue/purple belt, he knows a lot of takedowns. A rarity in modern BJJ schools. Good to see BJJ going back to its roots to Japanese Ju-Jitsu/Judo. Good stuff! Keep it up!
