Thanks for posting this. Leo is probably the most monstrous acoustic player I've ever heard. I was lucky enough to have a 10 year-older big sis who introduced me to Kottke, ELP, Buffalo Springfield, Joni Mitchell, CSN(&Y), S&G, ETC.

Maybe I'm getting older, and maybe it was because they were pioneers, but these artists seem like gods compared to today's mostly generic and simplistic, "me-too" crap. The best one's just don't get any attention anymore.

Been a Kottke fan for as long as I can remember.

Living and working in Buenos Aires, Argentina now.

Because of the subtitles you provide I've already started using the videos in my English classes. It's a very useful. The students get to work on their English while enjoying Leo's music.

Norwegian guitarist Bjørn Berge (Kottke's biggest fan?) has also done a good cover of this cover. Don't know if it is on any of his records though, but he plays it live from time to time.

This is one of those songs I really would like to learn on guitar. It's hard but not impossible. From what I hear there are two guitars (plus bass and drum) in this recording, 12-string to the left and six-string to the right. Chords are also quite simple (although "simple" doesn't necessarily mean "easy".)

Anyways, thanks for putting this up. I'll probably end up buying some of Leos records because of these videos.

WOW! Thanks for the flashback!  The visuals are a spot-on tribute to the times, the music, and the musician. This version has always lifted me up (naturally and otherwise). It is an awesome lesson of time passing to also see live recordings of Leo doing this same song 31 years apart.........................­.........
