@themajor38 and you could be losing as much as 4 or 5 percent doesnt sound alot but over a year im sure your boss would want that in his pocket rather than in the bin,and the guts in ungutted fish could be anywhere up tp 15 percent of the fish so you see i do in fact know a little bit about fish ,i will give credit where its due your first side yes good job ,second side not that good to be honest BUT HEY THATS JUST MY OBSERVATION others who dont know about filleting might think your a wizard

@themajor38 why what type of yield are you supposed to get? without weighing fish
whole then filleting it and getting a % to say yield is shite is a bit silly?what type of yield would you get from looking at a vid? gutted fish and ungutted fish are surely going to produce different yields, if i were as bad as your saying, have you looked at the others on youtube or is there a bit of bullshit on your behalf

@geordieace i keep it short, these codling you should get up to 58 percent yield gutted , right first side not bad at all tucked behind pectoral fin first cut ,second side inch away from pectoral fin and leaving a good bit of fish next to nape bone plus not much from top of head a crack around it is not good ,so you see i do know about weights and yields, like i said first side good job :) where your losing yield is in fact the heaviest part of the fish

@themajor38 yeah know what your saying ,but thats ok for pruduction fillets, but our customers like the clean cut fillet with little lap left on, looks better in fish counter
