  • Start < Control Panel < Performance and Maint. < click the "System" Icon < Advanced Tab < Under Performance click "Settings" < advanced < Under "Virtual Memory" click change.. make a note of what your paging file size is, then choose "No Paging file" and click "Set" do not restart, just do the defragment, after its done go back to the "Virtual Memory like before, and set your paging file size

And that completley defrags your HD, aftermarket defrag software would manage your paging file though

  • how?

  • You should really set your virtual memory to zero before you start defragmenting with windows defragmenter, otherwise those unmovable paging files "green" are just in your way

  • holy crap look at all them bars u have

  • It speeds up the loading time by recollecting and reattaching sparse fileparts

  • how does it help?
