@Mikey8028 no.... the real guy (who wrote the book and who the character Bob is based on) is alive. He actually just got arrested earlier this year from robbing a pharmacy.
google James Fogle and you'll get hundreds of articles about his countless arrests and continued drug addiction since the movie was released.

fuck yeah cult fuckin classic. i have seen this movie like 20 times and just now finally figured out that he lived. before i was stuck in between if he lived after that or not. closure. wonderful thing. anyways drugstore cowboy is one of my favorite movies ever and i wish it was still that easy to hit places like that.
