  • @ProjectRedfoot no you should clean it once or twice a week deending how dirty it is.

  • Your birds are cute and all but SOME info was inacurate..parakeets need LOTS of toys and they do need mirrors! if you have 2 parakeets, they entertain themselves and you SHOULD get a bigger cage. Also, when you clean the bottom of their cage, you should atleast make it only once or twice a WEEK..if their cage isn't very dirty, wait til it gets more dirty instead of wasting paper everyday. I'm just giving you tips not bossing you around.

  • twice a day?????? i havent changed mine all week, and its not even dirty.

  • aww i love this

  • this was a great video, really helped

  • One last post...

Look for a diet that includes nuts, legumes, grains, dried fruits and dried vegetables. I don't know the brand that you use, but the brand that I use is "Living World Premium Cockatiel Mix" I use the cockatiel mix, because it has more nutrients in it.

I also offer my birds a bowl of pellets. I was lucky, because my birds took right to the pellets. I use roudybush crumbles size, as they look like seeds. They love it, and it adds a more balanced diet for them.

    PM me if needed!

  • Again...

The best store that I know for bird toys is Crystal's bird toys. I have three budgies and a cockatiel, and I buy all their toys from her. They are hand made, and very cheap. Plus shipping is extremely reasonable.

4)Nutrition. It is true that budgies do benefit from seeds in their diet. That is proven by studies. However, there are many seed products out there that are bad for your birds. You need to look for a premium mix that includes not only seeds.

There is all different types of perches in the market. Grapevine, java, rope, boings, manzanita...the list goes on and on. Any pet store will carry them, but they may be expensive. Again, shopping online is your best option.

    3) You need more toys! Now I know you mentioned that they spend a lot of time outside of their cage (which is fantastic by the way), and they do have each other as company, but toys offer great intellectual stimulation for them. Online stores are great!
