Driving Hard

Driving my 1987 GMC Sierra Classic hard. See my channel for pictures and info. 350ci TBI, roller cam/rockers, MSD ignition, Mallory wires, MSD module, Bosch Platinum +4 plugs, 4 core radiator, K&N air filter, TCI Street Fighter 700r4 trans w/3000 stall TCI torque converter.

The Bosch plugs have been good. Nothing spectacular, and I haven't dyno'd the thing to see if there was an increase.

It still has the stock TBI and Electronic Distributer in it. With the computer killing most of my power and speed limiting it, I can only get it to 90 MPH. It was only 85 before the rearend gear swap. The Distributer and computer are the next mods.

That is an awsome truck....and you get 28 mpg!!!! Holy Hell, i have a carberated 355 sbc that has about 350 H.P in a 1980 regal with TH-350 and 373 rear end, and

i only get about 8 MPG!!!!! i guess that i need to get a fuel injection system so i can actually drive by a gas station without stopping for a splash of GO-GO Juice :)

What's your engine specs, cam and such and what rear gear do ya have?

350 bored .30 over, mild rollercam and rockers. I am running a highway gear in the rearend...don't remember the ratio. In town I get about 10 mpg. LOL...If you go FI, I recommend direct port. The TBI I have is troublesome. Always a messed up sensor or jet.

Slightly stronger than stock crate 5.7. TCI Street Fighter 700R4 on a 1500 stall TC.
