White House Puppy on the Way

The children of U.S. president Barack Obama are excited for a new arrival at the White House this week. Theyre finally getting their long-awaited dog in a matter of days.
U.S. president Barack Obama has lived up to his election night promise.

"Sasha and Malia, I love you both more than you can imagine, and you have earned the new puppy that's coming with us to the White House."

A new First Dog will soon be gracing the lawns of the White House.

Senator Ted Kennedy is giving the family a six-month-old Portuguese water dog.

They don't shed much hair so it's a suitable choice for Obama's daughter Malia who has allergies.

Sasha and Malia have named the dog Bo.

He's arriving next week.

The White House has a long pedigree of First Dogs.

They include the former U.S president George W Bush's Scottish Terriers who attracted lots of media attention especially when one of them, Barney, bit a Reuters reporter.
