The Patrick-Murray Administration announced a commitment of $42.5 million in state assistance to construct a new east-west parkway through SouthField, an award-winning, smart-growth community on the 1,400 acre site of the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station. The construction of the parkway is vital to the redevelopment of the base into a thriving model of smart-growth development and will bring significant relief to regional traffic ills.
There is nothing 'important' about this new project.
Why can't we plant trees and make the land into something more useful, like a sanctuary?
