A nice long session, I've pretty much done everything except for Cyan's dream. That's surprising. It's only been 14 or so hours and I've almost completed the game. Something just doesn't seem right... Anyway, I went to Ebot Rock with Relm and Strago to take care of Hidon. He wasn't hard but he took long to kill. The four characters I used were far from powerful and knew very few spells. I learned grand train, Strago's ultimate blue magic spell from Hidon. I could have just killed him with a phoenix down or revivify, but I didn't want to end it like that. Of course, right after I managed to get three dragons with Setzer's slot, Cyan killed Hidon. The game tends to rig the slots in your favor only when the boss is going to be killed no matter what. Very nice game, very nice. Once all this was cleared up, I went over to the desert near Maranda to fight a lot of cactrots. I ran into a few hoovers too, but mostly cactrots. This is a good way to gain a few levels (not too many) and especially gain a lot of magic. I actually made Relm semi-useful with her white magic and fire 3. Most of my physical attackers just know white magic and effective magic. Sabin knows basically all of the effective magic, he's my tank along with Celes and Terra. Anyway once I finished training, I took Mog over to the Triangle Island alone with sprint shoes. I got sucked up by the Zone Eater, so I equipped the moogle charm. I just wanted to get Gogo (or how I named Daryl) into my party. I also just wanted to get all of the great treasures here without having to fight annoying enemies. Once I finished this up, it was time for probably my favorite sidequest in the World of Ruin. The Ancient Castle. While moving underwater with Figaro Castle, you come across something that stops you. This is the cave that leads to the castle. In this cave are many enemies with very high magic defense, but low physical defense. They are also weak to pearl. With my team of Celes, Sabin, Setzer, and Locke, I was unstoppable. The first boss was the Master Pug. He went down in just a couple turns. He can be difficult but his HP is low, so not really... Next up was the Katana Soul. I smacked him straight down. I like how he "powered up" only to be killed by Locke right after. I got the Odin magicite, not upgrading to raiden though. Odin gives a +1 speed boost on level up, and is the only esper in this version that allows that. In the GBA version, you can get a +2 speed boost from the Cactaur esper. So if you're playing that version, upgrade Odin to Raiden because that's the only way you can learn all of the spells. Anyway, next up was the Blue Dragon. It was easy, bum rush, bolt 2, and Locke with the illumina is all I needed. Two dragons left... Once I cleared all of this up, I went back to the save point before the Castle and saved... Concluding day twenty-one.
