Rare footage shot aboard the National Geographic Endeavour while in Antarctica, shows a family of Type B Orcas training a juvenile the technique of "wave hunting".
@sicpooch Do you mean what does the word mean? Basically it means that different groups of orcas specifically hunt different types of prey. These type B orcas only hunt seals. In the same territory there are also type C orcas, which *specialise* in antarctic cod (which means that is their main prey, and possibly their only prey). Type B has a large eye patch, and type C has a smaller, slanted eye patch. That's how they can be told apart without observing their hunting behavior.
@PepsiP0P That's why most animal activists push for sea pens, where even the captive born can experience the sea, much more room to swim, a much more enriching environment than a bare tank and a chance to properly use their echolocation.
Some are born in captivity and would not survive the wild. However, you are right. It's disgusting that we lock up such magnificant creatures for our own pleasure.
This video is great. You all should check out Vthov. He's a nobody right now, but I think he's going places for real. Search "Vthov Obama Inauguration Song". You'll see what I'm talking about.
