I had never been to the office before and I went there one day CRYING for help about an unfair teacher and our dean MADE a joke about me to his secretary and LAUGHED!

I am a Seneca student and there are a lot of VERY good teachers who cared so much about the kids there teaching. BUT, I have had so many teachers that did NOT do their job and have told the students openly in class that they do not want to be a teacher and that we shouldn't become one. One of my teachers went so far as to COMPLAIN that she wasn't making enough DURING class. Seneca Valley is NOT all about the students.

My credibility comes as a future teacher. By the end of next year I will be a certified educator deemed so by the Common Wealth of Pennsylvania, I am a Secondary Education Social Studies, and History major. I am also majoring in Political Science, and Anthropology and Sociology.

Again you are probably using an online dictionary definition of socialism. And unless you are a libertarian you are a model hypocrite.
I will be the fist to admit the educational system that is in place today is flawed. Having said that it is part of a flawed government, so you cannot lay blame on that or the teachers of today. Perhaps if you generation or you parents generation did more to further the cause of education you would not have had to post this video

Since you like to talk about economicsyou have to invest capital into the district to get a return, and there is a direct correlation between how much money the community invests and the quality of education that comes from that.
And oh yeah you are describing communism not socialism.
So you were just criticizing elements of NCLB for being too socialistic and now you are say hey lets vote on things like vouchers.hmm are those not part NCLB

So you are telling me that if a school needs more financial help and does not have the money and two districts over a school is overflowing with money and needs not help that perhaps some of the extra money should not go to the struggling school.
It is hard to make any progress with out the financial backing for these programs.

Haha then you go on to ask what is wrong, like you would truly know. You can probably provide some useful insight but unless you are in this profession then you are not really credible or qualified to preach and criticize this situation, and profession.
And remember that capitalism does not have controls; it is simply supply and demand.or at least in the way that you are using it.

We should also keep in mind that just because you view education as a government service that does not mean, you as parent have no role in education. REMEMBER LEARNING IS NOT CONFINED TO A SPACE OR PHYSICAL LOCATION!
And yes the taxpayers are how the teachers get paid, but we do not work for you. We work for your children.
Then you criticize the government; well perhaps we should take away all the socialistic aspects and programs of our government and see what is left to serve you
An ad hominem argument instead of active debate? I am not naive and I understand the possible ramifications to my child from my opinions. My original response was to be a text response. However, only "approved" comments are allowed. Hence my censorship comment. As a matter of fact, I respect the work teacher's do. But logically, the system is flawed. I welcome intelligent debate. Personally, I would pay more for a better education for our children.
