  • @Dgamer5000 @JettShot I was going to give a more in depth answer, YT stopped me at 500 chars I was going to go on to say that coding the game teaches you a lot on how things work and that it is generally a good idea too. And I generally dislike game engines dew to the fact that they seem bloated, but that is my opinion. Also as the game industry is still young (30-40 years) there is really no wrong way to create a game, I was just pointing out that unity is only one method of game creation.

  • @ShadowHuntur You do know that Unreal Engine, a game engine, is an industry standard, right?

C++ and Lua are just languages. Alone, they are unable to make games. They require some kind of engine that can interface with DirectX/OpenGL, some audio SDK, etc. If you have the resources, that engine can be written by you, the game developer, created by some other in-house developer, or you can license one. Regardless, only a few game developers actually work on the "game engine" used in a game.

  • @ShadowHuntur You want my honest opinion? Coding doesn't insure speed or popularity. Have you ever heard of the game snake? 10 Lines of code, one of the most popular games of all time. You need to learn some more my dear friend. Game development Isn't CODING CODING CODING. Unity is an awesome program and has preset coding and everything. So in MY HONEST opinion it's going really well and he has a great game with little coding. Sounds like a winner to me, ehh chap?

  • Sup man, looks good. I couldn't see it very well, but keep doing what you're doing!

  • Looks good .so what's the game gonna be about ?

  • You want my honest opinion? Well considering Unity is a game engine, you can do all what you have done without writing one line of code. Now personally I think that you have done around one days work on the game Prototype! To be a game developer you have to be a programmer, yes you can make a game with a game engine without programming but that means your game will be slower and less likely to hit the console line. My advice is to do the prototype in unity, then learn C++ & Lua game programming.
