I agree, though Islamaphobia has been present in N.America since long before 9/11. Ignorance breeds fear and hatred, and the small, subtle, or even large differences in culture, belief, and lifestyle can overshadow the common characteristics all human beings share, regardless if they are muslim, christian, black, white or blue. Sometimes it's "easier" to alienate and shut out an individual, or an entire group, then it is to accept them, for we would have to comfortably accept "ourselves" first.

I travelled a lot in Muslim countries such as north africa, Bosnia, Lebanon, syria,etc..Muslim is like Christians, is not one entity.they all have different food and culture as christians from Africa and USA are completely different in culture and food.
Muslim from North africa and the one form India/Pakistan have completely different food and culture. Just as an example see Algeria star Souad Massi
