Awesome find Mitch!!! Sorry I didn't get to watch this sooner. Love the unique system! Funny how he lifted the bin at 4:49! I like seeing how he just drops the crate once empty, much like manual collection!!! This method works if there aren't a lot of recyclables in the crate, but if it's overloaded like many are, it's not so efficient (but still fun to watch). How do they handle replacement/extra crates? Is it free? Seems like they'd tend to crack. Anyways this one's a total favorite & feature!

You're right about being reasonably full/overflowing - just really interested to know how the residents out there live with crates and their collection rate.
As for extra crates, it appears you can't get extras + I took a look at the council site and there wasn't any mention about extras. This seems to be the reason why residents use both recycling crates, whether containers week or paper week... that'd be the situation when you see a blue and black one out at certain points in the video...

With replacement crates I'm pretty sure they've be free, as in most cases it wouldn't be the residents fault if it gets stolen or damaged (usually by the truck)... if I remember correctly, they're provided by the contractor. Thanks for the fav n' feature :D

Yer the only ones I can think of would be Botany Bay, Woollahra, North Sydney, City of Sydney and I believe there are small amounts in Leichhardt.
