  • There are good diving spots for Red Abalone. My favorite spots are as fallows; Salt Point, Cruise Ranch, North of Salt Point. They are loaded with over size , as big as 10"-12" , 25-75 yards off shore, 12 to 25 feet deep.

  • i went to salt point last year and had a rough time, it was a high-tide day and i only found one legal. my problem is i usually have my nieces with me and they're teenage girls who are not good swimmers so i can only take them to shallow and safe areas. maybe next year i'll go with experienced divers only! thanks

  • @geolotus12 , I take Ab diving very seriously. Where I dive is considered dangerous spot, but safe if diver practice and observe safety at all times.

You must also be in good shape to trend rough water for at least 150 - 200 yards min. A good wet-suit and diving equipment that's comfortable. May I suggest to have your nieces practice at Stillwater Cove where it is fairly calm and safe. Train them well, for they are the next generations of Ab diver. We might see each other comes April, ist, 2010

  • my stupid nieces have boyfriends now, so i'll probably not see them again til they get married, lol. let's go deep next year!

  • will be at moat creek parking lot 5am april 1st, see you there!

  • ya get in the water and get bit by whitey...shit if i can catch my limit there im good...

  • haha you know the place? going again april 8th. see you there!

  • is that a good place to dive or do you have to worry about sharks there also?

  • Oh my goodness, thx for reminding it's Abalone Season again.

I am in Woodland this month. I'll try to get there as soon as I have the free time.

Are you there in the openning day.?

Give me the update when & location you will be at. Give me your location of your Camp-ground, descriptions of your car as a clue to find you.

    Thx,* Clement @mepipeline.

  • When it comes to Ab diving, it is all serious business. May I suggest that you remain in tough conditioned at all times as we approach the new year, April, 1st of 2010. Always be aware about safety, safety and more safety. Most importantly,

we must be in tuned with the Dept. of Fish & Game Rules and Regulations which is always changing, year by year.

See you in your channel / YouTube...

  • im probably going to have to stick to the weekend ill probably go either sat or sun
