Echo (Eliza Dushku) is just one of the playthings in The Dollhouse, a secret - and highly illegal - facility where human slaves are programmed to fulfill the fantasies, needs, and whims of the rich and powerful. These "Dolls" can be the perfect companion, lover, even the perfect spy, and when the job is done they forget everything. But something is wrong with Echo. She is no longer just a blank...

  • I realize that this is much like you say; but as it goes along it seams its more about overcoming the wipe and regaining herself while growing as well and that intrigues me.

  • OMG IS DIS DA PILOT? can sum one plz tell me da link? PLZZZZZ

  • aswome show

  • That's what I thought, but it's not her according to IMDB.

  • I.e. it showed the depths of which she was capable and was some of the best acting in that show, as you got in the best of Buffy (seasons 2 and 3), Angel (Seasons 3-5), Firefly and Serenity and Doctor Horrible (God I never knew what Neal Patrick Harris was capable of till I saw that film!). And as much as I like the Angel comic so far (only read the 1st 8 issues), Illyria on paper so far is not Amy in leather/blue wig; she doesn't have the same choreography, acting, eloquence and charm as in 3D.

  • She did? As she said in some interviews she did Fred is basically her, playing Illyria was like playing a supervillain, punk/dominatrix (whatever that leather/blue hair get-up was supposed to be) ex-demon king-turned supergirl or something. It threw Amy off the deep-end and I think she was basically played a much tougher role, and pulled it off basically seamlessly. It's easy to play yourself, it's much tougher to do what she did, which is largely due to her and Joss's crew.

  • This trailer appears to be using footage from how the show was originally conceived and shot, before Fox stuck their nose in it (as has happened between them and Whedon before) to basically fuck it up. That's why the first five episodes (especially the premiere and ep 3) were only ok. The show didn't really find its feet until last week (ep 6) and it's gradually now started to feel like a Joss show. I have to confess that in those early eps Eliza had alot of Julie Benz's mannerisms. Weird.

  • If people are gonna talk shit then don't watch the show. If something like this existed I'm sure there are lots of purposes people would hire the actives for, including a disposeable lover. They're just looking at it logically, and it's not all they get hired for dumbass.

  • This is an awesome show! It reminds me of an anime called "Ghost in the Shell." In Ghost in the Shell they are bots with AI in this, they are real people with their mind hacked.
