Mooning Amtrak 2009

The 30th year of Mooning Amtrak was very, very quiet. The Orange County Sheriff and the City of Laguna Niguel California enacted very tough new rules on parking and travel to the location to effectively destroy a 30 year tradition. Last year in 2008 over 8,000 people attended (view the craziness on some other you tube videos). What a difference a year makes. This year we went on our new electric bikes, since there would be no way to travel by car to check out the action. BTW, the electric bikes were great and you can check them out at ElectricBikeMarketplace.com. They will even set up a test ride for you, give em a call. Notice how smooth the ride is on the video.

I used to work at Mugs Away for almost 4 years. This sucks....but its the way it started. Keep the dream alive and it will return.

This is a crying shame! I was there last year when the sheriff department showed up and kicked everyone out. I kind of guessed this would happened. Looks like a ghost town. This is a tradition that has transpired for thirty years. Small crowds for sure. Very sad sight to see!

thanks for documenting this as you did. there were 7 of us there, we stayed for 5 hours. It really died about 3pm, but we stayed. We are the group to the right under the KLOS signs on the fence .

I WAS THERE! i had never done that in my life and im proud to say i did, it was alot of fun! but sad thing is, i was only able to do it once.
