  • So Mr ugly shark, lets see if you were to put on a festival of all original material you would probably have a handful of people in the audience. You also mentioned that you have 20 years experience playing in bands and I dare say the so called dorky public came to see you perform!!! I guess this experience lets you be judgmental to others so why not go along to a Skint gig and offer them some constructive advice as to what they should be doing, Im sure they would appreciate talking to you.

  • Right then lets all have a heated debate!!

    I love it !!

  • All opinions are welcome. Some are more welcome than others though!

  • Someone is talking total bollox here ! fuck em would' nt even give them the time of day !!

  • yup, peaple dancing(all ages) i seem to remember the band played traditional covers, even before my time that stuff was. great band but every time i see them i have to teat my eyes away from her verry expresive eyebrows.(+the guy plays an SG).

  • Seem to remember a couple dancing to Mary Jane. (See video)

  • right then,1st things 1st, if your a fan of the maggots, check the early cds and you will see my name on them(i dont hide behind handles)so i am aware of what they do.2nd, the dorky public as you call them is the sole reason we can play live music any where, the reason bands like the maggots etc play covers is twofold, 1/ it keeps the punters intrest up 2/ it keeps the band fresh 'cos covers are easy to change and delve in to the bands back catalogue(bad spelling that) but then you know this.

  • intersesting comment, regarding the maggot... if you have ever heard thier own material its fucking brilliant ..do you think given a choice they would be playing covers, i doubt it but as long as the general dorky public keep wanting tossy greenday covers, bands like that are forced to play them...go buy a maggot cd and see how good that band are when they play thier own stuff. and i don't slag gigging bands i just hate music with no imagination...

  • mr sharkthingy, dont know if you were at the same festival as me..but i seem to recall that skint and the maggots were the only two bands who got peaple up to boogie on the sunday and fuck me if they aint BOTH cover bands! (all be it that the maggots do a few own numbers). cover bands get peaple interested and without that interest.....you loose live music! if thats what you want mr shark, then keep slagging gigging bands.

  • Aha Drace1369 empty head no jelous er no musician yes toured uk over the past 20 years yes, played with many well known bands yes i did see them at this years festval and i still maintainit was cringing to watch yes they are tight and obviously work hard and can all play i'm not slagging this band off as such i'm venting my dissapointment at musicians that cover other peoples songs just seems a pointless waste of talent to me. hopefully next year we might get some original material to hear.

  • I too think this band are a hard working outfit

and deserve a lot more credit than the big uglyshark gave them must be great friends .

    xxx.
