  • does this program have a high gain/distortion feature for metal?

  • @gottapee5 Yes.

  • can it work with audacity?

  • @dannydavidsongriffin Although we don't officially offer Audacity support, Audacity supports VST, so theoretically it should work.

  • wich software are you using?

  • @dein0ne

The recording software is Pro Tools, but there are many applications you can use, including Logic, Cubase, Reaper and others. GTR Solo is used to make the recorded guitar sound better.

If you have more questions about using guitar with your computer i suggest getting this book:

21st Century Guitarist by Craig Anderton

There are several ways to plug your guitar to the computer:

    1. A guitar cable into your audio interface's DI input.

    2. Waves/PRS box into your audio interface's line in. Usually sounds best.

    3. No external audio interface? A 1/4" male to 1/8" male cable. plug into the little 'line in' jack on your computer. Won't sound as good.

    4. One of the many guitar to USB guitar interfaces out there.

Craig Anderton's '20th Century Guitarist' book has more great info.

  • does anyone know how to get a free recording software that works with this?

  • @xkayosx audacity probably works

  • @maxtonsai guitar rig player

  • is it free?

  • I have some pedals and want to record it into a computer. How can I connect my guitar to my pedal and then the pedal to my computer? I tried using the microphone jack and an adaptor, but it gives terrible sound quality.
