In 1871 the modern united Germany was formed when the various southern states united behind a victorious Kingdom of Prussia after the successful war with France and a previous victory over Austria. The Kings of Prussia then became the German Emperors (Kaisers) until the fall of the German Empire at the end of World War I. These were: Wilhelm I, Friedrich III (who did not live to be Kaiser long) and the more famous Wilhelm II, "Kaiser Bill" of World War I. The German Empire tried to be the successor state of the old Holy Roman Empire or First Reich and so called the new entity the Second Reich. A Bohemian corporal would later make the term extremely distasteful to most people.

  • @GSPatton89 My theory is that ww1 was caused by territorial tensions left over from the napoleonic war. Which subsequently led to ww2. Which subsequently led to the cold war. Which subsequently led to the war in veitnam. You get the picture.

  • I'm also a monarchist, the republic is destroying my country and so I'd like to see European monarchies restored, including Germany of course. Prince Georg Friedrich von Preußen(great-grandson of Wilhelm II) would be a good monarch I think. May the Empire be restored as soon as possible. Heil, Kaiser, dir!

Great video and great music, MadMonarchist! I love Ride of the Valkyries by Wagner.

  • @DukeOfBlighty You've said everything friend, the republic is destroying my country that was once a great empire under the rule of our last emperor, D. Pedro II..

    - hail from Brazil! good luck to Germany, and to every nations! Long live the Throne, Long live the King!

  • German police should use pickelhaubes. :D

  • @RESTAURIERTdasDKR Maby even the house of Windsor as the queen was related to Kaiser will she could claim the throne.

That would be good the Anglo-German Empire no one would opose us !

  • The Great War ruined the economy and dissolved faith in the authoritarian political system. The army could no longer hold off the Allied attacks and the Empire collapsed overnight in the November 1918 Revolution, and was subsequently destroyed in the Versailles treaty.

  • I am not DukeofBlighty but I think I can answer. Democracy by nature is divisive. It creates tensions between people of different faiths, classes, political beliefs, ethnicities.Democratic leaders try to exploit these differences in order to gain support from certain groups. A democratic leader will claim to represent one group and blame the rest on that groups problems. A monarchy on the other hand seeks to unite all it's subjects (regardless of differences) under the paterfamilias(monarch).

  • Germany should have won World War I. It was after all partially the fault of the Czar for getting involved while the rest of Europe failed to understand Germany and Austria-Hungry had the right to avenge the murders of the Archduke and his pregnant wife Sophie. Princip along with some sympathetic support bymembers of the Serbian gov. sparked the powder keg. Everyone pointed the bayonets at Germany for simply avenging sensless murder and they have the audacity to yell about U-Boat warfare.

  • @LeopoldHabsburg but surely not with an Habsburgian Emperor

THE HOUSE OF HOHENZOLLERN and PRUSSIA RULES !
