You study something, because someone believed in something, after that proof appeared. You could consider all entrepreneurs to be a little bit nuts. They don't have proof before they start a business. What I do think that matters is what people believe in. The apatosaurus, the ultrasaurus, the brachiosaurus, the diplodocus etc. Believing is not something you do on your own. Again our whole culture is based on Judaism/Christianity/Modern Humanism (invented by a Christian) and old Greek philosophical norms and values. Believe-action-result. The closest thing to an Atheist culture is something like North Korea. Atheists copied a lot, but didn't create our culture.
