@KYEONGTI i once read an article where John used to be an alcoholic but he is sober now. he once lost his voice after breaking up from the New Grass Revival and was worried he wouldn't be able to sing again but he was able to recover and take vocal lessons. He sounds even better now! John Cowan actually hugged me once. i thought that was very cool!

@abcomatic no problem. my mom got me into listening to John Cowan about 6 years ago. the very first time i heard him sing i was so impressed and have been a big fan of his ever since. he has such a clear and powerful voice!.. i think he sounds even better now than he did when he was with the New Grass Revival

@vidfreak32: Thanks for the reply - I'm truly amazed that he does smoke. Most vocalists that have a voice as strong and pure as his, don't smoke.
No matter what, I'm still knocked out by Cowan....wow, what a great singer.

@abcomatic As a matter of fact, John Cowan DOES smoke.i've actually seen him smoke at one of his concerts. that was back in 2008. He now has his own band but recently take a break for a while because he is touring with the Doobie Brothers as a fill in bass player. even though John smokes his voice is still PERFECT!! i seen him smoke during a break
