I know three of the people on the wall of employees. Sherry Stanko, Ron Sheen and Barb Mydlow. Great times at the MET!!!

This has to be one of the most beautiful theaters in North America.
As a kid, on a visit to Winnipeg, I remember going to "The Met" about ten times to see the Walt Disney film, The Parent Trap -- over and over and over.
I had a crush on Hayley Mills. :)
I still remember thinking that this one perhaps the most magnificent movie theater I had ever seen, anywhere.
The folks who saved this wonderful slice of history are to be congratulated and thanked for their efforts.

Thanks for posting this. I fondly remember seeing movies at the Met when I was a kid. Tops on my "what if I get rich list" has always been to reopen the Met and show great old movies there at an enormous financial loss. I guess I'll be buying it from the Canad Inns one day.
Thank you to the "Friends of the Met" for doing this. It brings back many memories of all the movies of saw here from 1968 to 1986. I haven't lived in the Peg for the past 32 years, but on one of my visits home I just had to catch a movie at the Met. That was June of 1986. Little did I know it was to close forever the following year. I forgot about the fake stairway and was reminded of a school chum (grades 3 to 12) who signed the wall as one of the last staffers. Hey Ash how life?

@AccuTrac If that was the manager ashley, I have worked with him at one time,, should have seen his name on the wall in one of the pictures, right now the company called Canada Inns has control of it, deep pockets but don't still know whats going to be done with it. I had worked at the Colony, Capital. and the Met to name a few and managed to get into take pictures of all of them. before closeing sometimes on the closeing day such as the Colony. glad you enjoyed the vid.
