When it says "Microsoft is irrelevant" he doesn't mean it as a "microsoft is so band and is going to die soon" way, well, not strictly that way. Is just that nowadays the Redmond company doesn't have the lead in the technological world (like it was on the 90s), is not intendeed to be trolling just the well known fact that MS doesn't quite rule in the web market or in the Mobile market, they even had been struggling to enter the mobile market for two years now!

i don't like the ranting, but he sure is right about 'microsoft people'.
I have some MS certified friends, and they are very good in their jobs. But don't ask them about anything else than MS products. To them webserver is synonym for IIS, DB server to SQLserver etc.
