Yeah, so they ARE different. And actually, Extol kinda sounds like Soul Embraced at times.

ZAO is metalcore. soul embraced is death metal or melodic death metal.

Yeah, definitely. I'm a fan of both bands. But some of Aletheian's singing sounds a little like the singing that Soul Embraced does in their album For the Incomplete and sometimes the album Dead Alive.
