Peter Bowerman (aka Spear) 7th & 8th race in the FAA Classic & GTI Touring Car Championship (round 4) 12th & 13th November 2011 at the famous and exclusive Ascari Race Resort Spain circuit.

The weekend stated well with Peter Bowerman aka SPEAR winning the 7th race in class, after a close fought battle with Javier J Martinez with Antonio J Romero spinning out in front of them on the last couple of laps in his awesome Shelby Cobra.

Spear came 3rd in class in race 8 of the year after taking a heavy hit in the back and side from the Jose C Lirola's No 5 (green) GTI again!!!! this time Jose did not lift off, instead kept shunting Peter Bowerman No.7 around in a fast corner until Peter spun and Kissed the Ascari wall.

Peter quickly recovered but did not manage to catch up to the leaders with the damaged car, but managed to retain 3rd place with a few very close battles and misses with Eduardo Perez in his Citroen. After final races of the year at Jerez lots of body work will need replacing on Spears Lucky No.7 Black Golf GTI ready for the 2012 season.

Touring cars, Classic Touring Cars, Historic Touring Cars joined the Classic & GTI Touring cars on track at the same time and this weekend were also Joined by the Iberian Gentleman Racers and the International EuroBoss Championship.

This class is comparatively cheap to enter in to, and because of this is generating a lot of interest. The classic Mk2 Golf GTI's will race with the Classic Touring Cars between each round of the main FAA Touring Car Championships.

The GTI championships will have their own trophies and winners prize money of 3000 euros. The cars have to be a Mk 2 Golf GTI 1.8cc with 8 valves, the cars have to remain fairly standard apart from the regulation race kit which includes: racing suspension, anti roll bars, engine mounts, racing brakes, straight through exhaust, roll cage, 6 point harness, fire extinguisher, F1 cut off switches etc. that have to be fitted.

There will be 10 races to be held throughout the year in Andalucia that will take in circuits such as Jerez, Ascari, Guadix, and Tabernas circuit in Almeria.
