Official Sukhoi video of the Jan. 29, 2010 first flight of the T-50 prototype of the Russian air force's PAK-FA fifth-generation fighter, from Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The stealth fighter - nicknamed by some as the "Flaptor" -shows similarities with both the Lockheed Martin F-22 and the Northrop Grumman/McDonnell Douglas YF-23. Note the two weapons bays under the fuselage, the fairings inder the inboard wing sections, the moveable wing leading-edge root extensions, the small canted all-moving fins and the round engine nozzles.

  • Well done India - I am so pleased that a country with 98% of its population living in abject poverty and squalor can spare £19 billion to spend on its Air Force...

  • T-50 seems to be promised to a bright future cos' it doesn't have defaults F-22has ... In a word, it will be less stealthy but easier to maintain and buy! How will Usaf manage to keep its superiority with so few planes (187 f-22 planed instead of over 6 hundred needed) when f-15 will become rusty? Ok, the f-22 is state of the art concerning stealth technologies but, keep in mind that quantity matters to... T-50 definitely owe many things to Raptor & YF-23 but it still have sukhoi's touch...

  • This will be used in the future China-India War... Russia will be supplying India with the T50s, China supplying Pakistan with the J20s... it's a shame that Russia and China have split with their military alliance, the future is looking rather messy.

  • @UncivilizedMan the f-15 is out of service, so it will be rusting. Although f-22 is the best plane out there, maintance and cost of each plane is a big concern and it's really not worth it. Huge quantities will always beat a few qualities. That's what the f-35 is for, a 5th generation plane with stealth capabilitiet that's much cheaper. Don't forget the cheap f-16 and not ot mention the beast f-18 in service already.

  • @Scandi34 MR AH SORRY WHO EVER YOU ARE I AM VERY SORRY TO SAY THAT FACTS PREACHED BY U ARE ........RUBBISH.1. NOT 98% IS 40% THOUGH THE RATES ARE HIGH THE CIRCUMSTANCES CREATED BY OUR NEIGHBORS EX CHINA PAKISTAN ARE SUCH THAT LARGE AMOUNT OF MONEY HAVE TO BE INVESTED IN HOMELAND SECURITY.HOPE YOU WILL UNDERSTAND ........YOUR INDIAN COUNTERPART...........JAI HIND.

  • it looks like cfa-44 from ace combat 6

  • @kutseena and dont forget the f-22 was cancelled so there producin f-35's now. the f-22 was to costly and the f35 underperforms in comparison to this T-50, or maybe even chinas J-20

  • This is one sexy aircraft. Not to troll or anything but The US set the trend and everyone else is currently following. It's one of those things that go back and forth. Russia sends man to space, US sends man to moon.

  • @DJPierreNS You shouldn't have gotten shot! "Clever tactics and luck" yeah right, the F117 was shot clean-off and it wasn't the only one from the squadron at that time. At least one more F117 was hit that night, but it managed to turn around and emergency-land in Zagreb airport.

  • how about thanking your brother nation Serbia for downing that F117 in 1999?

:-) I'm pretty sure that we partitipated in creating this plane with those fallen parts :-)
