A short video tour of the allotment vineyard. August 2010. The grapes are swelling and starting to change colour as they ripen. Sugar levels are about 11%. Needs to be about 18-20% to make good wine. harvest planned for second week of October as long as the weather holds good.

  • Looking fantastic, Ive just taken over an allotment (Kent) So am in the research and planning stage for my vineyard. Planning on planting 40 to 50 vines of either Seyval Blanc or Mueller-Thergau, possibly a mix of the two. Did you think about orientation of the rows (wind direction etc) or just follow the shape of the alloted space ? Any advice greatfully received.
