I was just wondering if anyone knows what kind of storage the original yak backs used to hold the audio recordings
-
big92078- Thanks a lot for the tip! Got myself a battery holder tonight and went straight to bending. Works beautifully with some occasional "magic smoke", heh.
-
Huh. Never occurred to me to do that... I might try that instead of buying watch batteries when I get around to resurrecting mine. Did you put a resistor in the circuit?
-
Mine has Energizer 357s.

Ooooohh maaan. Those things were the shit. 8)

i luvd my yak bak.
i had one with all the added sound effects
-
how come they dont have yak baks anymore? they were like the coolest toys in the world
-
I love the sound quality of these things, it doesnt sound all that clear but it sounds cool and its amazing that the sounds you hear are made by varying voltage levels in an analog storage array google chipcorder or yak bak sound chip
-
i think it was the warper you mean the one that had an LCD screen and showed several faaces and you yak a message and it looked like the character spoke your yak i have one of those ill have to dig it out and get it on here, not enough yak bak videos on here
-
Did you know that there is a Wikipedia article about the Yak Bak series? It's not a very good article, but it tells a little bit about each kind of Yak Bak, except some of them are left blank, while some of them aren't mentioned in the article like the one that has an LCD screen showing a face, which I forgot what that was called.
I remember the Yak Bak series. I also remember the PowerPenz by the same people who made the Yak Baks.

Yup. I have a couple I'm messing with now.
Very hard to bend because of space issues.
I'm finishing up a cracklebox now.

Sure. I'll post some stills that show the bend points.
