k so if you used regular table salt thats your first nono. get the saline salt from your pharmacy or what have you. second your water was probably too hot. body temperature is the best and when you get used to using your neti pot you'll find your suitable temp.

Buy the "netti pot salt" from health foods store. I have tried using Sea Salt or regular salt, it doesn't work at all, burns like hell. Netti Pot Salt would do the job.
