  • I like to call them Ovibos, which is their genus name.

  • thks retriever...yup thats prob a better name... it was a bit tricky for these as they are often listed as muskox (all one word) but both are really abit confusing as they arn't oxen nor do they have musk glands...i Hope to be greatly expanding the descriptions for each animal to include details such as genus info, habitat, location etc etc.... So i could well be coming to you for help!!! thks again retriever

  • They are more closely related to goats. But guys - they are related to the rabbits, the wolves, the fox and to US HUMANS as well. We are all sharing a common ancestor. Even the bird (much further back.) Man, that baby musk ox is cute. Also their wood is the best of the best, 8x warmer than sheep wool, soft like silk.
