The more I think about the 'religion' argument, the less it makes sense. The Bible speaks out against a lot of things that are perfectly legal. Should adultery be illegal, just because it's a sin? What about swearing or using God's name in vain?

I would also like to comment on the yound lady who claimed to be a "Christian".... Ya know, the one who was smiling and laughing while the other lady got emotional and was crying. WWJD? He surley would not have laughed at the sobbing lady. Perhaps the young lady laughing and smiling was a "different" kind of Christian, a new age Christian where it is acceptable to be crule and judgmental.

This country was not founded on God. This country was founded on economic and political principals such as "No taxation without representation." The colonists were fed up with British rule, and wanted independence. It had nothing to do with God. If you want to take it back to the pilgrims, the pilgrims' arrival in North America had more to do with religious dissent from specific religious principals as it did a concept so broad as God.

I would like to discuss the highly educated gentleman who spoke towards the lady whose child was taken away from her years ago..... I have tried to come up with the words to describe this gentleman and the only thing I can come up with is, "Ridiculous"! Correct me if I'm wrong, but did he imply the only way one can love their child is if they were flesh of their flesh? So, I am also to assume that straight couples who adopt their children do not love them? I swear my just IQ dropped 15 points!

The only, I repeat, ONLY justification the supporters of this amendment gave was: "My religion made me do it!" Ridiculous. Your "religion" can tell you any damn thing it wants, and useless disputing that because you get to decide whatever religion you please.

All I've got to say is this: Don't be so eager to have the majority vote on the rights on a minority! If you want to vote yes on May 8, just remember: Today the gays, tomorrow it could be you!
