Coming in October 2008, a tremendously exciting project for Northern Soul fans everywhere. We've done a deal with Wienerworld, a major music DVD company, and the same company who originally released our classic documentary "The Strange World Of Northern Soul", and we are now doing the definitive DVD box set. A five disc set of 200 performances called "Northern Soul's Greatest 200 Floorfillers". This uses some songs from "The Strange World Of Northern Soul" which are completely re-edited, so they look fresh and sparkling new. All the previous video effects done in the 1990s are gone forever, consigned to history. Plus loads and loads of never before seen videos, many of which have sat in the can untouched for many many years. Plus some newly recorded tributes to the classics. If you ever went to Blackpool Mecca or Wigan Casino, this is the must-have purchase of the year. In putting together this box set, we have nearly all the biggest all time blockbusters, "Out On The Floor", "Night Owl', "I'm On My Way", "Time Will Pass You By", "Blowing My Mind To Pieces", "Do I Love You", all sung by the original singers. One of the obvious missing ones was " What", by Judy Street, simply because ten years ago, we were unable to locate her, although she now seems to have surfaced. I wanted to have the song in our box set, so I simply had to redo it with someone, in the same way as we did "Kiss My Love Goodbye" with Tammi Lavette, "Long After Tonight Is All Over" with Winston Ward, "It'll Never Be Over For Me" by Pat Lewis, and "I Go To Pieces Everytime" by P.P. Arnold. The only female voice who could do it justice is my wonderful Tahira - and wow - did she do it justice. My protege, Tahira Jumah, is the most fabulous diva, who is my Evelyn Thomas for the new millenium. When I first met her, when she came to the studio with Fay Jones, they were both friends of Angelo Starr, and he brought them along to meet me. I decided to pair them up to make a song which I wrote with Angelo, "It's An Ill Wind". They had never met each other before that day. But as I got to know Tahira, I realised she had all the attributes of a real Ian Levine long term star, which is why she then sang my very first song ever, "Reaching For The Best", for my previous album, "Yesterday And Tomorrow". And also, "It's An Ill Wind" has now firmly become one of my two favourite tracks off "Disco 2008", and, along with the Odette Adams track, these two ended up being the real sleepers of the whole bunch. Tahira is FABULOUS. I just want the privilege of introducing her to the world. She sang "World Of Your Own" and "Mister Right" for the "Northern Soul 2008" album, and teamed up again with Fay for "I'm In Wonderland" for the previous album, "Yesterday And Tomorrow". Tahira Jumah, with Verna Francis, Fay Jones, Shenton Dixon and Winston Ward, represents the new generation of Centre City artists, new artists that I have been working with to keep the essence of the music of yesterday still alive. And Tahira Jumah, who has been scouring England for the best soul talent there is, and our last brand new album is a vocal masterpiece, a new hope for the future, and a proof positive that great soul music is far far far from dead and buried. Thankyou my wonderful wonderful Tahira. You have done me proud. The best A&R talent scout there ever was. And as for Northern Soul - we believe this set of 200 classic songs will go down in history as the greatest Northern Soul DVD collection of all time.
Great song sounds so familiar

Have a look at the blurb to the right of the video. It explains that it's a cover of Judy Street's "What", done especially for the DVD box set, "Northern Soul's 200 Greatest Floorfillers".
