if their legs are higher than there bum, then it means their weight is being supported by the bum muscles... thats what they are there for! you want a deep seated position..

And this hold is also called a crotch hold, essentially you are holding your child by the crotch, the length of moby that is in the middle is doing nothing to ssupport the actual baby, its just support for your back. Please google babywearing safety
@mktarrant Although the baby does benefit from being carried close to his mother, facing out in this position there is no leg support, improper spine and hip support, and no head or neck support if the baby falls asleep.Facing out is a nonphysiological position that places pressure on the inner thighs of the baby and the base of the spine. To put it short bad spinal support and over stimulation. Moby no longer distributes instructions for this hold because it is bad for the baby.
Youre actually not supposed to carry them that way, although most people do it creates pressure on the spine and pelvis, babies legs should always be at a higher level than bumm. Mobys instructions are the worst *agh*
