I admit, the use of the phrase "Final Solution" makes things a bit...awkward.

@setheurovision94 meh.......this is definitely cliched & very cheesey........very well sung & at times rousing, but yes old fashioned. Mind you, most ESC YT "judges" have a taste for the dated (ie Seth, Tasos, Seamus). It would have sounded better in Norwegian. The line "its sung in English so it got better marks" is a poor argument in ESC. And most countries would do far better & sing in their native tongue.

@setheurovision94 Yes, thanks to a Swede (let it be said), a Belgian & a Monagasque. I have been a fan of many Norwegian songs in ESC: this, in fact 74-79 were all amongst my favs of those years, then: 62,86,88,93,96(one of my all time favs),98,01,04,08 (even 09). So in the year ESC heads to Oslo I can say that there are quite a few Norwegian songs I've rated as 'up there'.

@setheurovision94 Everything you say about this song I wholeheartedly agree with, the rousing start and finish, even the change in tempo during the versus that build up to the crescendo in the chorus & here singing & perormance are great. Everytime I listen to the song it gives me a lift.. The English lyrics are a bit ropey, but nonetheless add to the rousing effect. I believe the Nowegian lyrics are far superior.

@ESCsince1968 I still think the Norwegian lyrics are far superior, though, as they directly address the listener and deal with how we can distance ourselves from those in need with material things and mannerism. After reading them, the English ones just sound rather cliché. I wonder why they changed them, as they could easily have been 'English-ed' as far as I'm concerned.

@ESCsince1968 I'm glad you think that highly of it. Sometimes, Norway were just plain unlucky, I guess. Maybe they were indeed overshadowed by Scandinavian Sockhop Land? This is such a lovely song, the chorus in particular is fantastic. Thank goodness for those three people to whom it was a favourite.

@setheurovision94 My favourite song of '74 & thus by extent of the 70s, much better than the one that won - who was it? oh yes, glamrock from HurdyGurdyLand next door. To this day I cant understand what the juries were thinking in regards to this song. Then I continue to be perplexed by what juries do.
-
@setheurovision94 I do admit that 4 countries shared the last place that year, but all the same, this song deserved way better. Oh well, you did good, Anne Karine.

Underrated as hell. Lovely girl, lovely and fresh song. How could such a quality song come last? Apart, of course, from that dreadful scoring system that thankfully said aideu after this year.
Last place? PØH!! But Norway is always underrated...
