Ontario Government Acknowledges the 21'st of March as Norooz

April 2008 - On a resolution suggested by Dr. Reza Moridi, the first Iranian-Canadian member of the Ontario legislative, the first day of spring (which is also the first day of Iranian year) is acknowledged as Norooz. After the introduction of the bill, members from the 3 parties present in the house (Conservative, NDP, Liberal), state their supporting views on the resolution and it is then passed with the positive vote of all parliement members.
