LACMTA New Flyer "The Whistler"

While in Downtown LA bus fanning,I was lucky to get audio and video of the MTA New Flyer that whistles like you wouldnt believe,turn the volume up!!

I used to drive the 45-4700's out of division 8,and the newer 6000's outa div 10,and they all have the squeeky belt sound!Got to love it,I sure miss driving those!

Actually,the sound is generated from the Catalytic converter..At least thats what Ive been told..

The gillig phantoms whistle too!! I was on one and it randomly just whistled. 5*

We have 1 C40LF in NYC that sounds close to it, but nothing like this one AT ALL!!!!! Lovely!!!

Here in Atlanta some of MARTA's C40LFs make that whistle sound too, and a few of the 1992 D35HFs also had that whistle before they retired in late 2005. I guess its a New Flyer thing

Or how about Seattle, WA? There's whistling D60LFs run by Sound Transit up there.

its the turbo and its immanent death. a common issue on detroit diesels.

Man our C40LF's used to whistle on the regular!!!!! Just nowhere near as long as thois one did!

I never heard a New Flyer whistle, but I heard so many of them whine.. Sounds wierd as hell whistling though.
