One time I was playing that game on the Genesis, and I accidentally pulled the console off the shelf with the controller and that happened. It was hilarious.

"Congratulations, you have hit me without freezing me. Here's the level select as an award."
That?

This trick also works on an emulator. How? Save a state. Then reset the game and load that saved state. It's trial or error, but sometimes, by just doing that, the secret level select screen pops up.
-
this happens when the game has a major screw up caused by interruption of game loading yeah its wierd

i wish this trick worked on mega collection...

Lol at 0:41.

You don't even have to flick the cartridge that hard, all you gotta do is just loosely grab the top of it and just wiggle it a little. That'll make it happen.
-
I was pissed and tossed the controller away and it came up with 'Congrats' :D.
Note the cartridge is specially made to be shakeable is would seem, so keep doing it from start-up/reset of the console until the screen comes up (should be in the first few seconds).

LOL, funny thing, I responded as I paused the vid a few seconds b4 you flicked for level select, so my prior comment is useless, just ignore it. Btw, it's interesting how one of the ways of achieving level select in Flickie's Island is by literally "flicking" the game cartridge, kinda ironic huh? :D

...I remember it would say "congratulations" and some flickies are floating around it, and there's some tune playing, then I press enter and all the levels are there to select from, and special stages etc, I was surprised when it happened b/c it was an accident, you should all check to see if it works for you guys or if I'm the only one who could do it. :o

This video reminded me of something, and this is true, it was hard for me to explain to my friends at the time, I've actually gotten the level select cheat to appear by just flicking the game cartridge after the sega logo, b4 the opening screen where you would press start to begin play, and sometime during that witch logo thing, which I can't even remember what it's called atm, it's tricky, I would flick firmly, but not too hard or soft, sometimes it wouldn't work though.
I tried dropping a penny but the game would still keep going no matter how hard I dropped it.Maybe your mega drive is older then mine?
