Diamond Day Records is very proud to announce the release of The Steepwater Band's 5th full length studio album. CLAVA, was recorded this past March on the South Side of Chicago at the studio of the same name. Also known as a trinity of stars, CLAVA is a fitting name for the new record produced by the trio along with Colin Sipos, a young, up-and-coming producer/engineer who has worked with the critically acclaimed Iron & Wine and Califone. Sipos also recorded TSB's "The Stars Look Tonight/My Back Pocket" single and mixed "Live at the Double Door." With the perfect atmosphere in the studio, Clava finds the band hitting their stride both musically and creatively. The ten new songs feature some of their bluesiest, heaviest and most psychedelic tunes to date.
The album will be available on 180 Gram Vinyl, Compact Disc, and Digital Download via Steepwater.com, iTunes and Amazon on Tuesday, August 16th, 2011. In celebration of the release of CLAVA the band is performing TWO SHOWS at the BEAT KITCHEN in their hometown of Chicago, IL on Friday & Saturday, August 12 & 13. The record release shows will be the first place you can grab your copy! The guys are planning a very special weekend as each night the set will include the new album in its entirety. Kicking things off each evening are two of TSB's favorite artists: an acoustic set from Ed Anderson & Scott Tipping, of Backyard Tire Fire on Friday, and then on Saturday the Lions of Hazelwood, from St. Louis way. Be sure to get your tickets early with the intimate size of the venue these shows are bound to sell-out. The tickets for these 17 and over shows are going on sale now via TicketWeb (http://www.ticketweb.com/snl/Search.action?query=steepwater+band&REFID=bkcal).
