So the other day I realized there was a fundamental problem in the Terminator series. I HAD to tell Chuck, our mad scientist, about it. Witness the secret that destroys Terminator.

  • That's not even considering what would have happened if the Resistance beat Skynet BEFORE Skynet sent a Terminator back in time.

  • Everybody knows time is not linear, or cyclical, it's more like a big ball of timey wimey...stuff.

  • In Back to The Future, the concept of time was actually held diifferently, you can ACTUALLY change time, meaning there are in fact multiple versions of the time line, kinda like the total opposite of the terminator series, where it's just one, and it's unchangeable.

  • realityisDEAD98 did a pretty good job of explaining it. Read Hawking's book "A Brief History of Time" to get a better understanding of it too. Much of quantum physics like the uncertainty principle or wave/particle duality also has similar issues, but is an actual part of our daily lives(cell phone, etc.) A closed pre-destiny paradox like this works in all theories(if time travel possible)...Kyle was always his father and he had to send him back or his reality would cease to exist!

  • Terminator is a web of lies because it's a movie. :D

  • GOOD FUCKING POINT

  • maybe time don't travel from a -b, maybe there isn't just one time line but inf-fact infinite parallels all fractionally different. maybe what you see and sense don't exist at maybe life is just an individuals perception. maybe it's all just a big lie. lol who really knows

  • It's a time paradox.

  • its a Paradox kyle was always John Connor's father the point at which John sends Kyle back in time would be considered a fixed point in time because if that changed then the whole of reality would unravel. The illusion that time runs in a straight line is incorrect at least according to people who believe timetravel is possible. Therefore Paradoxes like that of the Terminator series is possible as long as time does not move in a straight line but rather in a complicated mass of loops and turns

  • dude its a complicated series write it down on a piece of paper ,write it out then ull get it

  • @memoryshuffle hahaha, two deities battling it out, one trying to destroy the Universe, the other trying to save it... havoc ensues and the future is written up until John sends Kyle back... then he sends a T-800 back to get the T-1000... I must make a fifth Terminator film in which John is just smoking tremendous amounts of weed, battling the evil deity with his mind powers, sending people back in time, etc... hahaha... I'm in the process of making my first independent feature, by the way.

  • Didn't bother to read the comments... Kyle Reese is John Conner's father... he doesn't know this... Kyle Reese is born around the same time as John Conner, but his time traveling self fathers John. Since 1984 occurs first, a bunch of impossible shit happens to prevent Sarah Conner from dying... like Bill and Ted getting the keys to the jail cell with theoretical future efforts. At some point, they must perform those efforts, like John sending Kyle back to impregnate his mom.

  • This is SO not confusing!!!! Ok, kyle is his dad. It already happened. He wuz ALWAYS his dad. It didn't change just cuz he sent his friend back in the future. IT WUZ ALWAYS THAT WAY! u can't make someone not exist by getting rid of their parents, cuz if they exist in the future, the killers plan must have gone wrong along the way. Yah. Make sense now?!?!!
