The singer in this case is one of the greatest sopranos ever. At least the one I personally love most, and the one I NEED TO HEAR when I listen to a piece of Bach or Mozart. She is Edith Mathis, the unforgettable and beautiful Pamina. Trumpet is played by P. Thibaud. Münchener Bach Orchester conducted by Karl Richter. Unfortunely this wonderful source may at times lack the minimum informations desirable, but on the other hand it's a great tool to let others get to know this masterpieces.

PS: and in this case it is the singers ability that decides the tempo... Richter was clever enaugh to understand that he looks much better if his singers sing well( as, actualy all great conductors do and did... The rest of them get to be forgotten soon After they die).
Who is the singer?
I find it allways very anerving when people skipp the singers name in a piece that is sung...
Without conducter it can be performed( as a metter of Fact at Bach s time noone coductet), but without an great soprano it cannot be performed; and then no name of the singer! Funny!

Who plays the trumpet?
It's a great recording!
Richter has done so many fantastic things in his (too short) life!
