my rat just died 2 days ago his name was manny i loved him so much waching this vid made me cry cuz he used too sit with me when i was eating popcorn and he loved it! I miss him so much r.i.p manny i love you<3

@lovehamsters45 Yes rats eat meat. they are omnivores like humans they can eat just about anything. fruits, veggies, meat, bread, just about anything that is available. However there are some things they can not eat like peanut butter for example. but yes they eat meat.

Um.... I gave both of my rats an apple then they started getting hyper and attacking each other then I have them a cucumber an then they started to run around. They can eat anything? Well can they eat like eggs or seeds or sumthing ??

@TheCullens590 well, they are omnivorous but you should stick to their lab blocks as their main diet and give small amount of veggies and fruits as a treat. Things like pasta, eggs, rice etc should also be just occasional treats (small amounts). If you google, there is a list of certain foods that should never be fed to rats (e.g. blue cheese, onions etc.)

Did you know rats can eat chocolate? Yeah. Just a small amount, however.

@AshlynMew Yes. I do stay away from it, though. Dark chocolate can help during respiratory distress - not sure how much that might help, though.

Aw..... My rat used to jump into my lap when I was eating, steal a bit from my plate and scamper off, then come back for more.
