like you just said its a dialect, it is pretty obvious that learning the national language would be of most importance instead of learning a dialect. if the ppl are from a region where cantonese is spoken regularly (exp. HK) then they can learn it on their own just by living there (they probably speak canto first anyway)

its like in jamaica, they are taught proper english, your not going to be taught patois in school, that would be pointless.

In reality, Cantonese is highly underated, and is being less spoken each and every day because the Chinese (in China) are now being forced to learn Mandarin and become less likely to try to learn their regional dialect. Mandarin is now becoming more dominating each and every day. So before you make accusations of how I am oh so, "stupid and ignorant," how about you use your brain to figure out WHY I'm so stupid and ignorant instead of spewing bullshit with no logic and reasoning for your claim.
