. Holly trees next door. Costume Museum, drawing with Richard Bawden & Philip Ardizone, son of Edward. Used to be a little oak tree growing from top of that rounded tower.

They've found a roman circus and villa in recent years. This was my town. Used to go drawing in the castle. They had heaps of Roman pots, so many they were worthless. Surrounded by a Roman wall, inc a pub called The Hole in the Wall. Loved this place. They spoilt the skyline though. A smelly river at the bottom of the park - The Colne. Hired a boat, got drunk, ate mushroom pate ,annoyed fishermen. It was an idyll. Claudiuses bust,-used to wish on it

if u dont no, that castle was built on top of a roman temple.. u can go down and see the old walls and stuff... nice vid
